Senior Instrumentation Technician
Looking for a role within an Animal Health business renowned for innovation, growth and diversity?

Based at Upper Hutt New Zealand manufacturing site
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary Bracket: NZ $75 - $95,000
Our team of maintenance technicians and engineers support our manufacturing operations, ensuring that equipment is regularly maintained to high standards. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting issues with machinery and utilities within the plant, whilst documenting all repairs and servicing of equipment. Participation in a call-out roster will be required to provide 24-hour support to the facility. Shift work may be required to minimize equipment downtime.
Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is your ability to apply strong technical knowledge to routine maintenance and troubleshooting activities. It is also essential to be able to work collaboratively with other functions to support site priorities.
What You Will Do
Your primary responsibility will be to support the site by:
Performing and documenting instrument electrical changes and calibrations of instruments and other works within your competence to meet maintenance and production schedules.
Ensuring equipment breakdowns are resolved with minimal disruption to the operation, troubleshooting and resolving non-routine problems.
Reporting and advising on corrective actions resulting from equipment failure.
Providing input and assistance with executing capital projects, continuous improvements and supporting other departments.
Ensuring all quality, corporate and legislative compliance requirements are met.
Organising your own daily tasks and routine maintenance, in line with the prescribed schedules.
Setting up scope of electrical work for vendors and checking that the work was performed to the appropriate standard.
What You Must Have
Practical instrumentation and calibration experience.
A recognised engineering qualification / trade certificate in a relevant discipline.
PLC knowledge and experience.
Proficiency with data and trend analysis.
Strong verbal (negotiation / influencing) & interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail with good documentation skills (accurate record keeping with clear legible handwriting skills).
Willingness to work on-call and support future planned shift pattern.
Experience and/or qualifications in the following areas are advantageous (but not essential):
Pneumatics / Hydraulics
Refrigeration / HVAC
Utilities including water, steam, gas and compressed air
Experience with GMP/GLP or ISO 9000 in a production environment &/or in Pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous
Competent in Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, Outlook, Access
Experience with problem-solving analysis ie HOP, Fishbone.
