The role/s reports to an Insights Manager.
These are multi-disciplinary teams of analysts, researchers and evaluators.
We apply a range of analytical skills and methodologies to provide high quality evidence and insights on New Zealand across the MBIE policy portfolios for Government, MBIE, and a range of external stakeholders.
Our work is interesting, topical and has impact.
Our Insights Work Programme is complex and multifaceted and covers a wide spectrum of MBIE policy portfolios, such as: migration, employment & skills, building system, economic development, science & energy.
We support and influence the policy debate and provide direct advice to Government and information to stakeholders and the public.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Insights Analyst/s with a strong background in economics and economic analysis with a track record of leading and developing research and insights projects, to join the team.
You will be a natural relationship manager with proven analytical and/or evaluation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives along with the ability to engage and support staff to help further strengthen understanding and awareness across MBIE.
This experience will be complemented by well-developed communication skills and an appreciation for the big picture, enabling your work to have policy impact.
You will be able to apply advanced economic frameworks and methods of analysis to identify problems, analyse and synthesise the issues, and identify and assess strategies to advance knowledge and understanding.
You will also have a commitment to customer needs, innovation, continuous improvement, and generate new ideas and ways of doing things.
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for leading projects and analysis across the Insights Work Programme which requires significant cross team collaboration and a close working relationship with our customers - MBIE's policy teams.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the wider insights, research and evaluation portfolio.
