This is your opportunity to make a significant impact, working on diverse projects that enhance the quality of life for our residents and ensure sustainable growth.Te Wero - The ChallengeAs a Senior Infrastructure Planner, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, engage with stakeholders, and utilise your expertise to plan and implement critical infrastructure projects.You will deliver comprehensive technical and professional infrastructure planning services within the Infrastructure Group, ensuring robust support for:Strategic Development: Crafting and implementing long-term infrastructure strategies that align with regional growth and sustainability goals.Project Management: Overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.Stakeholder Collaboration: Engaging with local communities, government agencies, and private sector partners to foster collaboration and ensure projects meet the needs of all stakeholders.Innovation and Sustainability: Integrating innovative technologies and sustainable practices into infrastructure planning to enhance efficiency and environmental stewardship.Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure the resilience and reliability of infrastructure systems.The ideal candidate will possess:7+ years' experience in planning, civil, or environmental engineering, including 2+ years in infrastructure planning.A relevant tertiary qualification in planning, engineering, or environmental science.Membership or eligibility for membership in a relevant institution.Knowledge or willingness to learn Te Ao Maori, tikanga, Te Reo Maori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.Strong documentation, reporting, and writing skills, including business case processes.Advanced experience with the Resource Management Act and/or Local Government Act and understanding of upcoming legislative changes.Practical understanding of project management, policy development, collaboration, and consenting.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues confidently.Commitment to community outcomes and a progressive mindset.Far North District Council is proud of our diverse workforce and is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
