We're looking for an amazing part-time Senior Information Officer to join us and lead our front-line gallery team!
Mo te tunga - About the role The Senior Information Officer plays a pivotal role in bridging the front-of-house team with leadership, ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional visitor experiences in both operational and active capacities. This 20 hour per week position requires active participation in the exhibition spaces, which necessitates a certain level of physical fitness to manage the demands of the role. You will manage weekend operations, including staff rostering, hosting protocols, and some performance monitoring. Your responsibilities also include upholding health and safety standards, implementing visitor surveys, and maintaining a high standard of gallery presentation.
We are seeking a friendly and approachable individual with extensive customer service experience, management background and strong cultural and community awareness. The ability to work effectively within a political environment is essential. Flexibility, including availability to cover a mix of weekend and evening work, is essential

Key accountabilities: A strong focus on supporting the Supervisor in either Health and Safety requirements and systems, or wellbeing, staffing, and HR processesActs as a point of receipt and distribution of communication for the Information Officer team and Team LeaderUndertakes rostered shifts as exhibition Information Officer (two-three days/week)Works on office-based projects and administrative tasks as requiredManages weekend activities by overseeing roster and shift changes, ensuring uninterrupted levels of serviceProvides support to the Information Officer team to deliver best-practice visitor experiencesAssists with visitor tours as requiredDevelops hosting protocols tailored to each exhibition suiteEnsures timely and effective communication between gallery teamsMonitors team performance and engagement, aligning with gallery goals and aspirationsEnsures legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilledPersonal attributes:
