Job Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including motors, transformers, circuit breakers, and other industrial electrical equipment.Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the reliability and safety of all electrical systems.Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.Repair or replace faulty electrical components to restore system functionality.Electrical Systems Design & Upgrades:Assist in the design and implementation of electrical system upgrades and modifications.Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and codes.Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety within the workplace.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.Report any safety hazards or issues to the appropriate personnel.Work closely with other maintenance and engineering team members to ensure the efficient operation of industrial systems.Provide training and guidance to junior electricians or apprentices as needed.Qualifications:Experience:Preferred 7+ years of experience as an electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Licensing & Certification:Valid EWRB license.Must have a valid NZ Drivers License.Additional certifications in industrial electrical systems or safety training are a plus.Technical Skills:Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.Strong understanding of electrical theory, relevant regulations & standards, and industrial electrical systems.Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other industrial electrical components & automation systems.Physical Requirements:Ability to work at heights, and in various industrial and/or unpleasant environments.Must be able to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.High level of initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Great customer service skills and the ability to deal with customers and/or other trades.Application Questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as an electrician?Are you currently registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB)?Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?
