As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior In-House Accountant to join our dynamic team.
Role Overview: As the Senior In-House Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of the company.
You will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
This is a key role within our business and requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with various departments to drive financial performance and support decision-making at the executive level.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and year-end reports in compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage company budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business strategy and project planning.
Cost Management: Analyse project costs, overheads, and margins to ensure profitability and cost-efficiency across projects.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risks.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all statutory requirements are met, including GST returns, payroll, and tax filings.
Business Partnering: Work closely with senior management and project managers to provide financial insights, contribute to strategic planning, and optimize operations.
Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor junior administration staff, ensuring professional development and performance excellence.
Skills & Experience Required: Experience: 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management software - Xero and advanced Excel skills.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the financial aspects of the construction and manufacturing industry, including job costing, contracts, and project-based accounting.
Analytical Abilities: Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing accounting teams.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with non-financial managers and stakeholders.
