As a Flood Modeller at Jacobs, you will utilise cutting-edge software and simulation techniques to explore surface water, groundwater, coastal, and fluvial processes. By delving into water quantity, scarcity, and quality, you will gain a deep understanding of natural hazards, the health of water resources environments, the impact of infrastructure development, and the implications of water abstractions and discharges.
With our workload constantly expanding, we are seeking a talented and innovative modeller to be part of delivering exciting projects that range from large-scale environmental initiatives to providing resilience advice at a property level. At Jacobs, we believe in utilising advanced analysis coupled with scientific expertise to help make informed decisions and effectively communicate risks.
Here's what you'll need: Degree in Engineering or related field as well as industry-leading expertise in surface water modelling, particularly flood modelling.
Technical reporting skills: review or compile technical reports that detail the type, methodologies, results of field activities, interpretation of results and impact assessment.
Coaching and mentoring of junior staff.
Ability to communicate results and analysis with internal and external clients.
Maintain industry leading proficiency in the use of standard tools, techniques and equipment that are required for the undertaking, completion, and delivery of your work.
