With extensive generalist experience, you'll have demonstrated your value as a coach, mentor, and trusted advisor. Your approach is both commercial and pragmatic, grounded in contemporary HR practices, and you are always ready to step in and handle hands-on tasks when required.In this role, you will excel at building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders across the partnership. You should be able to work independently while proactively seeking opportunities to innovate and enhance our employee experience. Your ability to handle complex situations with tact and professionalism sets you apart as a trusted advisor and advocate for both employees and leaders.The Senior HR Manager leads a team of two and reports to the General Manager.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the firm's goals.Oversee and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including performance and development, health, safety and wellbeing, engagement, job evaluation, remuneration, recruitment and payroll.Provide expert guidance on employment law, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and handling complex employee relations matters.Lead investigations and manage disputes, disciplinary actions, and grievances.Manage HR systems and payroll processes.Analyse HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve performance.Drive initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to reflect current legal standards and best practices.What you'll bringMinimum 8 years' experience.A true HR generalist with proven experience in a similar position (ideally with a legal or professional services background).A collaborative, solution-focused mindset with a genuine interest in fostering leadership, talent, and capability across the firm.Proven knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.An understanding and commitment to confidentiality and sensitive information.Commercially focused with an ability to influence and gain buy in with ease.If you're looking for a varied and rewarding role, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day!To be eligible to apply you must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand and meet any entry requirements if you're outside the country.
