About the Role:
As a Senior HR Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and support across all areas of HR. You will work closely with managers and employees to ensure best practices are followed, contributing to the overall success of the business. Some of your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
Support the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires.
Assist with performance management processes, including the development of performance improvement plans.
Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that align with business objectives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, ensuring compliance across the organisation.
Stand in as the acting HR Manager whilst the manager is unavailable or on leave.
About You:
Our ideal candidate would be an HR generalist with proven experience in an HR Advisor role in the manufacturing industry or in a similar high-risk environment. A degree in HR Management or a relevant field would also be preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team will be the key to your success in this role. Experience in managing recruitment processes, solving ER issues, and knowledge of employment law within New Zealand is necessary for this role. Experience in unionised environments would be a great advantage for this role.
