Senior Housekeeper part time - 24 hrs a week RMHC New Zealand supports families with a child in hospital away from home. The Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programmes take care of the practical things in life - like finding and paying for a place to sleep near the hospital, organising meals and paying for parking - so families can focus on their child staying in a hospital away from home.
In 2023, RMHC New Zealand provided 4452 families across New Zealand with 42,206 nights of accommodation – free of charge, saving families almost 10 million dollars.
We have an opportunity available for an outstanding part time Senior Housekeeper to join our friendly and supportive Housekeeping team to ensure the RMHC New Zealand facilities are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. This is a pivotal role in delivering the service commitment we have made to our families.
The Senior Housekeeper role is 3 days a week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm each day. There will be opportunity to have a handover as part of each week, and possibly more hours in the future as the role evolves.
This role will report to the Christchurch House Manager, to deliver a range of services including but not limited to:
Ensuring all obligations are met in all aspects of cleaning of the guest rooms and communal apartments, and other areas as required
Maintaining high-quality standards and co-operative relationships with families, employees, volunteers and visitors
Training of new staff and volunteers
Recording of equipment and general maintenance
Stock Management and Admin
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Excellent relationship management skills
Ability to train staff and volunteers
Excellent grasp of the English language
Be a team player - enjoy supporting and working with others
Be physically fit to complete a range of cleaning duties
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment
