Join us in collaborating with iwi, communities, and stakeholders to connect visitors with the rich stories of New Zealand's past.
We are looking for an experienced Heritage Advisor to join our team, with opportunities to join us in our offices located in Christchurch, Nelson, Taupo and Whangarei.
Other locations within these regions may be considered so please indicate in your covering letter where you wish to be based.
As Senior Heritage Advisor, you will: Collaborate with regional leadership to align regional work programmes with national heritage and visitor strategies.
Act as a key liaison between regional operations and national heritage teams.
Strengthen the regional team's heritage knowledge and skills.
Support and provide heritage advice into complex projects, including planning, scoping, commissioning, and reviewing work.
Engage with Maori, iwi, technical experts, community members, and heritage agencies at all levels.
Provide specialist heritage advice for operational projects.
Communicate effectively through clear, concise written and oral communications.
Minimum Requirements: We are looking for a minimum of five years' experience in heritage conservation, a relevant tertiary qualification, and proven skills in relationship management and stakeholder influence.
You should have a strong track record of providing expert heritage advice, particularly in collaboration with Maori and iwi communities, and leading complex projects.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 to $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
