Our Central Operations team is looking for two Senior Healthy Waters Specialists (Operations Engineer). This dynamic and fast-paced role provides key subject matter expertise in a specialist area responsible for ensuring the delivery of industry best practice stormwater solutions related to the operation and maintenance of the stormwater network. As the asset owner, you will manage complex operational issues, manage risk, lead investigations, and resolve stormwater network issues. Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction is key to the role, and you will exhibit excellent communication and influencing skills.
There is a strong focus on health & safety and financial management in all areas of work, with an expectation that this role will champion innovation and build strong effective relationships with all stakeholders, aiming for best practice and achieving customer-centric outcomes.
He korero mou: About you
We're looking for an engineer with extensive expertise in civil/environmental engineering and a strong background in the delivery of stormwater solutions including project management, design and/or operations of water-related infrastructure projects.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in the three waters infrastructure sector or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 specifically in stormwater management.
The successful candidate also needs to be comfortable working closely with internal and external stakeholders and the community, ensuring strong engagement and interaction with those stakeholders.
We will also be looking for experience in:
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced operational environment.
Conversant with health and safety legislation, policies, and guidelines relevant to the construction industry.
Substantial site safety and safety in design experience.
Project and contract management of high-risk, high-value projects.
Track record of dealing with operational engineering issues with excellent customer satisfaction.
Evidence of operating reasonably independently and at a level that may be expected from a senior practitioner.
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience in local government, the associated political environment, and mentoring junior staff members will also be advantageous.
