We are looking for a pro-active health and safety professional who is ready for their next step. We are flexible on location as we have offices in Hawke's Bay, Masterton, Wellington and Palmerston North with regular travel to our various sites throughout New Zealand. This is not a work from home role however, as you will be a visible and approachable presence on site. About the role: Be a champion of health, safety and wellbeing and work collaboratively with our teams across New Zealand; Advise and communicate on relevant policies, compliance standards and processes to ensure we are meeting our requirements and managing health and safety risks; Maintain and coach our teams on our health and safety data and administrative processes (including ACC, incident reporting, injury management, chemical and emergency management) whilst identifying key trends to proactively find solutions and mitigate risk; Engage and partner with our teams and our health and safety reps to upskill on health and safety practices; Work closely with our wider group shared services teams to provide support with ongoing initiatives and projects. To succeed in this role you will have: 5+ years previous experience as a health & safety advisor in an operational New Zealand environment; A New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety Practice (Level 4) as a minimum qualification Experience working at ISO45001 standards Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements, as well as a passion for workplace health, safety and wellbeing; The proven ability to develop strong partnerships and embed engagement strategies with operational teams - we need someone who can bring others along with our health & safety journey. Experience working with safety software systems and data, with an analytical mindset to identify trends to work towards preventative measures; Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage on all levels and build sustainable relationships with our diverse teams; Highly organised, able to deal with conflicting priorities and work under pressure; Solution and improvement focused to streamline processes and share innovative approaches to achieve best practice; Solid computer skills including Microsoft suite and SharePoint.
