Are you a dedicated and experienced leader in educational transformation, ready to create impactful change? Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is seeking a Senior Head of School Improvement for a fixed 24 month term to lead and oversee key initiatives for school improvement. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Education Services and be accountable for strengthening the leadership and teaching practices across our school, making a positive difference for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing akonga.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
You will provide expert guidance to the school's leadership team, bringing your extensive experience in educational change management to foster a culture of improvement and innovation. Key aspects include:
Leading Change : Develop and implement strategies that address ERO review findings, ensuring changes are embraced and sustainable.
Supporting Leadership : Build leadership capacity by modelling best practices and fostering a professional learning environment focused on continuous improvement.
Enhancing Systems : Evaluate and streamline school systems and processes to align with strategic goals and best practices in educational administration.
Engaging Stakeholders : Build strong, trust-based relationships with staff, whanau, and partners, emphasizing culturally responsive practices that respect Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
Monitoring Impact : Use data-driven evaluations to track progress, report regularly to the Director of Education Services, and make adjustments as needed.
Registered teacher with a proven track record in senior educational leadership.
Expertise in managing complex change, particularly in special education or schools with diverse learner needs.
Strong strategic thinking, communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, equity-driven environment.
This role is ideal for a motivated leader dedicated to transforming education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. This role could be based in Christchurch or Auckland.
