About the role HG's digital team are looking for a Senior GIS Developer to join our Client and Projects Squad from our Auckland or Wellington office. This position can be permanent or a fixed term contract of at least six months; we are flexible and open to discussing options with the right candidate.
This role focuses on the innovative design, development, and continuous improvement of geospatial solutions for our clients, as well as bespoke developments for sophisticated visualisations and interactive user interfaces.
With a strong client/stakeholder focus, you'll be adept in creating customised digital/spatial solutions that are both technically advanced and sustainable.
Our clients, their industries, and the solutions we create are diverse, so our collective toolbox includes a variety of geospatial software packages and technologies.
This role best suits someone with a strong personal focus on quality and best practice; someone who likes to stay on top of geospatial industry trends and technologies and is always looking for ways to continuously improve what and how we deliver.
Your skills and experience If you have experience in most of the following areas, then this role could be right for you:
7+ years experience developing geospatial solutions and web mapping applications using the Esri suite of products, including the ArcGIS JavaScript API/SDK.Demonstrated experience and skills in HTML, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Java and Python.Developing and integrating with spatially enabled data in platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, ArcGIS Server/ArcSDE, GeoEvent Server, Azure SQL and cloud data services such as Databricks and DeltaLake.Demonstrated skills in web-based technologies, web service API development/usage, web server configuration and a sound understanding of cloud technologies.Experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including system requirements collection, architecture, design, coding, development, testing, maintenance and enhancement in variety of technology platforms.Tertiary qualification or Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems or related disciplines or equivalent industry experience.Experience working in teams using agile, CI/CD, DevOps or DataOps methodologies.Experience using open-source geospatial packages such as Leaflet, Plotly, Geoserver, and QGIS is desirable.Why join HG?
