Woods is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing engineering, surveying, urban planning & design, and geospatial services to clients across a range of sectors.
The Woods Geospatial Services team is responsible for delivering on the complex geospatial needs of clients from sectors as diverse as transport, water, energy, telecommunications, land development, residential design, and heritage. We aspire to be New Zealand's leading high precision geospatial experts.
Our unique capabilities
We utilise some of the most advanced data acquisition technologies, including LiDAR laser scanning (across handheld, mobile, terrestrial, and aerial platforms), photogrammetry, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and pavement assessment technologies to develop high-precision survey-grade 3D geospatial models.
We specialise in extracting and delivering unique insights via our growing machine learning, data analytics, and GIS toolsets. We are constantly looking to evolve our capabilities to answer the most demanding problems.
The role
We currently have an opening for a senior qualified and experienced Senior Geospatial Surveyor to join us. The ideal candidate will be an established leader across survey, project management, business development, and people leadership domains.
Your skills and experience
The ideal candidate for this role will bring the following skills and experience:
Core Requirements One or more relevant surveying qualification(s). 10+ years experience in the survey/geospatial industry (Senior Associate level). Excellent knowledge and experience across core survey techniques (e.g., GNSS, Totalstation). Experience with 1 or several specialised survey techniques - UAV, MLS, TLS, LiDAR, photogrammetry (including data processing and products). Project management experience leading and coordinating geospatial projects (from site capture through to processing and final deliverables). People leadership and management experience. Favourable Skills & Experience Knowledge and experience across advanced survey techniques, processing techniques and generating deliverables. An interest/demonstrated experience in tackling complex technical projects. Hands-on experience with end-to-end data capture workflows (capture, pre-processing, digital deliverables). Experience with transport, land development, infrastructure related projects. An interest and passion for client engagement, pricing, and business development.
