A Senior Game Designer opportunity is available for a talented professional to join our client's team in Auckland, New Zealand, on a permanent basis. This role involves shaping the vision and creative foundation of exciting new game titles while working closely with a talented team of developers, artists, and programmers. The successful candidate will lead projects from concept to final release and contribute to the development of innovative game systems.Key Tasks & Responsibilities:Conceptualise and develop game designs while participating in the creation and review of innovative game concepts and ideas.Document game designs, create levels, script gameplay, balance game mechanics, and manage data entry.Collaborate with other disciplines to resolve conflicts and meet design goals.Review the implementation stages to ensure execution aligns with the vision, goals, and quality requirements.Conduct project follow-up work and maintain timely communication with department heads and development teams.Research market trends and propose new game concepts and ideas.Lead and mentor other game designers within the studio.You Have:5+ years of game development experience, preferably in free-to-play (F2P) games.At least 2 released games to your credit.Experience designing core game systems and a strong understanding of the mobile market.Profound knowledge of monetisation in F2P games.Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team of designers.Expertise in Game Design with experience designing and implementing game mechanics and systems.Experience in level design and game development.Proficiency in mobile games and familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
