Job Overview Jensen Hughes has a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Fire Engineer to join our New Zealand team and help us drive excellence across our projects and deliver world-class life safety solutions to our diverse client base. This is a key hire for our Christchurch team. You will not only lead on some of the industry's most exciting projects but also have a key role in shaping the future talent within our teams through mentorship and development opportunities.
As a Senior Fire Engineer, you will be an integral part of a dynamic technical team, working with our experienced Engineers. Alongside other teams, you will work on the industry's leading technical projects. Responsibilities Project Leadership: Lead fire safety engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet all relevant regulations and standards.Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments and develop effective fire safety strategies.System Design: Develop specifically engineered solutions ensuring the design meets the client objectives.Expert Advice: Provide expert advice on fire safety matters to clients, architects, and other stakeholders.Documentation: Prepare and review fire safety documentation, such as reports, plans, and specifications.Construction Monitoring: Ensure the features essential for building fire safety are correctly installed.Peer Review: Provide peer reviews on behalf of Councils or private clients.Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance.Research and Development: Participate in fire safety research and development projects to stay updated with the latest advancements.Mentorship: Provide coaching and mentoring for Fire Engineers, Graduates, and Interns.Project Management: Demonstrate effective time management and prioritisation of tasks and responsibilities.Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.Health and Safety: Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained on all projects.Requirements and Qualifications Tertiary qualification in a related degree (Masters in Fire Engineering preferred or Building Engineering degree).Chartered, or working towards, with relevant qualifications and experience to undertake the chartering process.Previous experience in a Fire Engineering or Fire Safety Compliance role.Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people at all levels.Experience in an advisory capacity, working with Industry Stakeholders.Business and Financial acumen.Risk and Liability analysis experience.Why you should join Jensen Hughes You will work with market-leading clients and have the backing of a leading international firm.You'll have support from the leadership team and be given flexibility to work where and when you want.Career advancement with an established framework is in place clearly defining expectations, outlining opportunities for promotion.Jensen Hughes is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
