Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Accounting - Finance and Performance | WellingtonAn exciting opportunity to join the Ministry's Financial Accounting teamPermanent, Wellington based roleSalary midpoint of $105,270, actual salary dependent on your experienceAt Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.The Financial Accounting team is responsible for running the day-to-day financial operations for the Ministry, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing functions and preparing financial statements and the analysis of financial data.Ko ake mahi - What you'll doAs a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be providing high quality analytical advice, insights and modelling to the financial accounting team and wider Ministry. You will support financial accounting in providing timely, complete and accurate financial information.Tasks will include, but are not limited to:Providing consistent and high-quality analytics and adviceProviding support to the Purchasing function of the teamProcessing and assessing the validity of month end journals and accrualsAnalysing and reviewing monthly transactions and producing variance analysisEnsuring the integrity of the General LedgerBuilding reports, models and providing clear communication to support the business's understanding of financial dataBuilding and maintaining collaborative and positive relationships across the Ministry and with external stakeholdersEnsure all work reflects our responsibilities to the priority of equity and meeting Treaty of Waitangi obligationsMinimum Requirements:Qualified Chartered Accountant / Tertiary qualification in finance or economicsWorking experience of end-to-end financial processes and the application of effective financial modelling and analysis principlesAbility to analyse and probe to understand underlying financial driversExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholdersProven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under pressureKo matou me to matou whare - What we bringUnlock your career potential at Manatu Hauora, where you'll discover a world of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
