Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role Our Finance team sits within our Corporate and Finance group, which works to enable the organisation through the provision of strategic and operational advice and support across ACC.
The Financial Accounting team is responsible for monthly management reporting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, financial controls, and reconciliations.
The Senior Financial Accountant role is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and experience of accounting principles to showcase their ability to add value beyond the transactional.
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you'll be working on monthly management, Board, and statutory reporting and you'll undertake reconciliations reviews and help to resolve any issues that arise from these.
Where you will really shine is when you connect with the business to provide quality advice and subject matter expertise to projects or initiatives.
As a Senior, we expect that you'll be able to assist the Financial Accounting Manager and mentor and coach other members of the team.
There are plenty of opportunities for continuous improvement and refining of accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
This is a permanent role, based in Wellington.
The base salary range for this role is $101,287 - $142,993 with appointment within the range depending on skills and experience and internal relativities.
ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.

Mōu | About you You may already be working at the senior level with a public sector background and be looking to join a larger, more complex organisation, or you may come from the private sector and be keen to gain some public sector experience.
What matters is your ability to work accurately and at pace, eagerness to provide coaching and guidance to the team, enthusiasm to support the Financial Accounting Manager and desire to build and maintain strong working relationships across the business.
You'll bring: * A strong foundation of experience from a finance function.
* An up to date working knowledge of financial reporting standards.
* Proven experience analysing accounting issues, establishing solutions, and implementing these.
* A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or Business and CA qualification.
* A future focused outlook and a positive attitude toward anticipating potential issues and finding solutions.
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
