You will have a thorough understanding of the Xero business environment and be an expert in process improvement and getting the best use out of financial systems.
You will act as a leader within the Accounting Team and work collaboratively across the rest of the finance team.What you'll doBe a key part of the team that drives Xero's month end close process and reporting, owning key areas including CAPEX, leases and cashflowReview/understanding of wider functions/P&L, ability to analyse financial results and identify trends and anomalies and reasoning behind thisSupport the half year/annual reporting cycles, including contributing to the reporting and audit processesSupport and drive reporting and audit processes for foreign subsidiaries complianceTake initiative, driving change and improvements across the team and wider functions - particularly leveraging finance systems (including the month end close process)Supervise, support and mentor other members of the Accounting TeamReview junior accountants' workHave a strong understanding of IFRS, including providing management with conclusions, suggesting solutions and identifying risksOwn specific non BAU projects and delivery in accordance with specified deadlinesStrong relationships outside of finance, as evidenced by being a key contact to business ownersSuccess looks likeBuilding effective relationships with Xeros, both within finance and across the wider organisationDemonstrating an ability to find efficiencies, and improvements in processing activitiesQuality, accuracy and timeliness of workWhat you'll bring with youCritical competenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with members of Finance and with other areas of the businessExceptional attention to detail and accuracyStrong planning, organisational, problem solving and self-management skillsDrive and initiativeA genuine team player who works collaboratively with and contributes to the function of a high performing teamExperienceA minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in large corporate or Big 4 CA environmentsQualified CA (or equivalent)History of process improvementSpecific experience with software companies desirable but not essentialPlease note:We will be observing a holiday shutdown period, during which there may be delays in our recruitment process, including responses and updates.
