Senior Financial Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Finance Team based at our head office site in Te Puke.Te Puke is experiencing significant growth due to our "thriving" kiwifruit industry. It's also in a great location within an easy driving distance from both Papamoa, Mount Maunganui and Tauranga. If you're up for the challenge – then we want to hear from you!Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will assist to deliver EastPack's financial management and KPI reporting and variance analysis as well as managing finance systems and processes to meet our statutory obligations.You will need to demonstrate excellent leadership and people management skills to lead a close-knit team of five, including our Accountants and Accounts Payable Team.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Management of general ledger and financial reportingAssisting with budgeting & forecastingManagement of business systems & internal controlsOversee treasury managementCompany statutory obligations (including GST, FBT etc)You will need to have:A business degree with 5+ years financial accounting experience.A strong understanding of accounting principles applied in the preparation and analysis of management and financial reports.A high level of competency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level).Experience and a good understanding of the use of KPI's to drive business improvement.Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.It is desirable that applicants hold a professional membership with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (or similar professional organisation).Applications will need to include a detailed cover letter and CV.
