About the opportunity | Mo te whai waahi We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive team player to join us on a 9-month fixed-term basis, bringing their A-game to this fantastic opportunity. Collaborating closely with the Financial Controller and Company Accountant, this role involves processing and analysing transactions, offering management support and guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including tax and NZX capital adequacy requirements. If you're ready to bring your expertise and agility to the table, this opportunity is for you.  What you will bring to the role | He aha ka kawea e koe ki te mahi We are looking for someone with these attributes and experience: Understanding of reconciliations, analytics, and general ledger processing. Familiarity with financial markets; experience with system migrations is advantageous. Numerically proficient with strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in time-sensitive situations. Skilled in establishing effective working relationships and delivering on goals. Demonstrates a proactive, self-managing approach and comfort with technology, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Degree in accounting and Chartered Accountant qualification. Minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in professional services or corporate environments, navigating dynamic, deadline-driven settings. Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements; familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred. Key responsibilities of the role: Prepare and present monthly management results with the Financial Controller. Keep SAP General Ledger tidy and manage month-end processes. Handle balance sheet and accounting reconciliations. Oversee accounts payable and review monthly invoicing. Work on the annual audit and prepare financial statements. Suggest and implement process improvements. Compile reports for the Leadership Team and assist with financial forecasting. Manage queries on financial data and improve reporting methods. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including NZX rules. Oversee company cash management and lending activities. Handle tax returns, payments, and develop tax policies.
