Position: Senior Estimator / Quantity SurveyorLocation: Russell Gordon Contracting, AucklandThe TeamRussell Gordon Contracting (RGC) is the result of a merger of the AJ Russell Brick & Block Layer, Aotea Paving (Russell), and PMG (Gordon) family construction businesses, boasting a proud history built over 5 decades.RGC has grown significantly since its inception in 2013, currently comprising a team of approximately 150, operating across the greater Auckland area and northern BOP & Waikato provinces.We are committed to supporting the professional growth of our team members through an Integrated Incentive Programme.Role OverviewThe Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor will be a strong, results-driven leader who derives satisfaction from building effective teams and fostering professional growth.The ideal candidate will align with RGC's 4 Pillars of Culture, Quality, Abundance, and Principle Centred, ensuring a good fit within our team.DutiesReview relevant Divisional monthly accounts and weekly job reports with the Commercial Manager.Ensure all projects commence with a Tender Handover Meeting and the transfer of pertinent data to the delivery team.Liaise with suppliers, customers, stakeholders, and RGC personnel to maintain positive relationships.Coordinate with the General Manager for resource planning and allocation across projects.Own Project Risk Management Plans during the tender phase, identifying risk exposure and developing mitigation plans.Lead project cost control and reporting against budget.Meet Key Performance Objectives for the project.Contribute to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments and Tender methodology development.Drive continuous improvement opportunities in processes and methodologies.Build sustainable relationships with clients and delivery partners.Skills and ExperienceAt least 8 years of construction-based project commercial management experience.A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying.Experience in a fast-paced work environment.Strong mentoring and coaching abilities.Civil and structural concrete centric construction experience preferred.Commercially astute with strong cost management skills.Proven planning and program management experience.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Motivated to lead HSEQ initiatives.BenefitsCareer pathways and development opportunities.Strong remuneration package and incentive scheme.Supportive and high-performing team environment.Commitment to work-life balance.Vehicle provided.
