Leading and supporting across multiple sectors, this role will perform various quantity surveying functions including estimating, planning and cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.What we are looking for:Strong industry experience with a good understanding of asset componentsCompleting cost estimates from first principles using your site experienceExperience with an industry proprietary estimating package (CCS Candy preferred)Strong commercial/numerical and analytical ability with a diligent eye for detailEnsure all project costs are actively managed to ensure adherence to project and budget constraints.Review contract terms and conditions, provide updated cost estimates for variations to contracts.Report on project performance and provide updates to operational stakeholders.Prepare and submit tender documentation including priced/non priced attributes.Perform research and analysis on industry trends, market conditions, work streams and upcoming tenders.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.High level negotiation and analytical skillsProven ability to work under pressure and prioritise (time management)Experience in a structured tendering environmentMentoring and developing junior staffQualifications Required:7+ years project experienceRelevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying or Civil EngineeringExtensive experience in cost estimating (First principals Candy) and Cost XDemonstrated track record of winning and managing major projectsEmployee Benefits:Southern Cross medical insuranceCarpark or Public Transport cardPaid professional memberships - support in gaining and supporting your membership costs for RICS or NZIQS
