That's why we sign a contract that makes promises to you, not just the other way around.The OpportunityJoining us as an experienced Senior Estimator within the Tendering team located in the Auckland Region - Penrose.Your role will have you produce consistent, accurate cost estimates for projects, coordinating the tender process including effective and timely delivery of cost estimates as part of the bid management process.
You will also prepare schedule of quantities, which is used in the tendering process while completing and updating quantity records.
Your liaison with stakeholders will be with the Chief Estimator, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers on a regular basis.In addition to above, you'll:Utilise your site experience to deliver cost estimates from first principlesProvide support in the development of pre-qualification documents, participate in meetings with potential clients including assessment of alternatives and value engineeringAssist with pricing inputs in accordance with the tender plan created for each projectPrepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs and a schedule of quantities, used in the tendering processRecalculate quantities in the design or materials changeProvide guidance to staff allocated to the tender/bid process and lead supplier negotiationsSet up tenders using CCS (Candy) computer based estimating and cost control softwareParticipate in post tender negotiations and provide supporting analysis and management of identified risksWhat we are looking for:Previous experience in delivering Roading and Utilities projects or contracting experience is requiredHold a minimum 5 years' proven experience in estimation within the sectorHold relevant tertiary qualifications (B.ENG or QS)Must be proficient in electronic tendering systems CCS CandyStrong communication and problem solving abilitiesREAL BENEFITSMedical insurance for you and your whanauLife insurance from day 1 of employmentIncreased KiwiSaver employer contributionsEnhanced Parental Leave policy, supporting our people with new additions to the family.Ongoing training and development and family scholarshipsExcellent discounts at a wide range of retailersCreating, Connecting and Caring for the CommunityOur people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities.
