This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.The remuneration range for this role is $106,892 to $150,906 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.The opportunityThis role is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer to join a team of passionate 3 Waters engineering professionals within Wellington Water, where you will be responsible for strategic planning and delivering network investigations into regional water supply issues. As part of this position, you will take the lead on complex issues, review work and provide technical support and guidance to the team and organisation. Additionally, you will be a pivotal part of the Facilities team, assisting with the mentoring of developing engineers, providing technical support across the organisation, and managing engineering consultants and contractors to deliver work programmes.The role sits within our Network Strategy and Planning group, which leads the development and implementation of the regional three waters strategy, planning and policy advice to ensure that our asset management planning meets the needs of client councils.With a strong emphasis on collaboration, this role will also see you:Leading challenging and interesting projects across the three watersInvolved in tactical planning, investigations, hydraulic analysis and condition assessmentDevelop your career with support from management and principal level engineersProvide technical advice and support to other teams within Wellington WaterSupport the capital program and investment planning processes for our client councilsAbout youTo be successful in this role you will bring:A relevant tertiary qualification such as Chartered Professional Engineering (preferred), Bachelor Engineering or Diploma in Engineering (preferably Environmental Natural Resources or Civil Engineering)Strong technical knowledge in designing infrastructure such as pump stations, network hydraulics, and/or hydrogeology, with other 3 Waters experience beneficialAbility to solve complex engineering problemsLeading analytical skills and ability to manage data to inform and make decisionsStrong relationship management and communication skillsBenefitsAt Wellington Water, our purpose extends beyond delivering great water services for the region; we foster a thriving community, support a diverse workforce, and offer supportive development opportunities.
