We have a team of more than 60 people in various roles dedicated to providing exceptional service to our members.
We have 8 staff throughout New Zealand providing timely and effective support and advice to members.About the roleYou will be based in the NZPA Wellington City Office.
The role will support members in the wider Wellington area.
You will also fly to Gisborne to support members who need in-person representation.
The majority of time in these roles involves providing industrial advice and employment representation to Police Association members, including all employment relations issues and disciplinary matters.You will also be promoting and delivering the services of the Police Welfare Fund and the Police Credit Union to members.
This is both a challenging and rewarding role, providing regular interaction with members and police management.
Specialist support to the role is provided by the Association's National Office team.About youFollowing a retirement, we are looking for someone to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.
This role might be for you:If you are:Professional, caring and dedicated to your workFamiliar with New Zealand employment rights, agreements and principlesExperienced and confident in disciplinary processes, performance management and other employment issuesAcquainted with the resolution of grievances and employment relationship problemsAnd you have:A solid understanding of Police and the environment they work inProven problem-solving, negotiating, advocacy and facilitating skillsAdvanced inter-personal and relationship building skillsSelf-motivation/management, initiative and good organisational skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Office productsA solid understanding and empathy with Police and the environment in which they work is desirableThe successful applicant would need to live within the vicinity of Wellington.
