About this role | Mo tenei turanga We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Senior Education Adviser, Early Learning at our Greymouth office. The Senior Education Adviser, Early Learning works with early learning services across the region to implement the regulatory framework for Early Learning and provide advice and guidance to the early learning sector to ensure quality provision.
They support the implementation of services, projects and initiatives, and they develop and implement projects to increase early childhood education participation by children from target populations (e.g. Maori, Pasifika and low social-economic communities) in areas where participation is low.
The Senior Education Adviser, Early Learning also does the following:
Share specialist knowledge across the organisation and with stakeholders, working with others to inform operational level decision making.
Follow Ministry processes to assess regulatory framework when licensing new services and change of management, conduct licensing assessments as a part of complaint or incident investigation, to identify any non-compliance, and gather evidence and make recommendations.
Work in a collaborative way with key stakeholders to provide timely, accurate, quality implementation advice and support, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and obligations.
Salary range: $84,425 to $102,271 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mohou ake We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience of Early Childhood services, and the Early Childhood curriculum, regulations and/or pedagogies. We also seek someone with a tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or another relevant discipline.
Furthermore, we are seeking someone with the following:
Experience in building relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
Evidenced bi-cultural practice and a working knowledge of Te Tiriti and evidence of working with other cultures.
Experience in engagement with Pacific groups and communities.
Understanding of the broader education systems in New Zealand and relevant education legislation.
The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
About our group and team | Matau ropu ake Our team provides leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services.
The successful candidate appointed permanently to the Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast region will be based in the Greymouth office. There will be some overnight travel involved. They will join a supportive and performance-driven team environment.
