About the Opportunity This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior Development Technologist to join a collaborative and passionate team within a global organisation on a 9-month contract. As part of this highly varied role, you will manage a complex workload of new product development, as well as BAU, specific to cultured foods. Reporting to the Product Technology Manager – Oceania, you will be a key leader in our product innovation and development efforts, playing a pivotal role in driving complex projects, providing technical guidance to the team, and identifying new technologies and processes to improve our business performance. Your key responsibilities will include: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the product development team, guiding them in product formulation, process optimization, and troubleshooting complex technical challenges Lead cross-functional teams in the development of new dairy products, range extensions, and process improvements, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively from concept to commercialisation Identify emerging trends, technologies, and processes in dairy product development and manufacturing, and evaluate their potential applicability to our business Conduct in-depth analysis of product formulations, processing methods, and ingredient functionality Oversee quality assurance activities, including product testing, shelf-life studies, and compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements Communicate project status, technical insights, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and insights to support decision-making About You You will have prior experience in cultured foods, with a fundamental understanding of milk and cultured foods chemistry. You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with people across all levels of an organisation. You will also have: Bachelor's degree or greater in Science, Food Science, Chemistry or other related field 5 years minimum experience in product innovation and development within the FMCG industry, specific to cultured foods Experience in master data, recipe development and specification systems, such as Hamilton Grant & SAP The benefits of life at Fonterra | Te ora i Fonterra Our people and what they bring to our Co-op shape our success.
