We have an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Senior Development Scientist. In this role, you will play a key part in our facility expansion project which will significantly increase the production capacity of our platform biomaterial used in advanced medical devices.
You will lead and support essential activities for this expansion project, including conducting feasibility studies to evaluate process changes and their impact on the safety and efficacy of our biomaterial. Additionally, you will develop and validate assays, as well as support equipment qualification and process validation activities to ensure the expanded plant becomes commercially operational.
We are looking for someone who not only has the skills and qualifications to be successful in this role but who can collaborate cross-functionally with our engineering, clinical, quality, and regulatory teams and strives to do their best for the benefit of AROA and the patients we serve.
Your key responsibilities:
Validating the performance and safety of medical devices, developing and improving processes to support product development.
Plan, execute and manage experimental studies.
Develop pilot processes and test methods, generate feasibility data.
Act as subject matter expert in animal tissues, biocompatibility, and microbiology.
Provide scientific support to AROA departments and external partners, as required.
What you'll bring:
BSc or MSc (or equivalent in relevant scientific discipline) with a minimum of 5 years' research or development experience. Experience within the medical device or biotechnology industries is highly desirable.
Ability to produce and review technical documentation and communicate complex technical information to a wide range of audiences.
Experience with cell culture and microbiological assays.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Robust and logical decision maker. Works well in agile, fast-paced environments.
Based in Airport Oaks with easy access to the motorway, there is plenty of free parking available around our offices. We also have an onsite gym, exercise classes and heaps of celebrations.
