SPACE STUDIO is looking for a Senior Designer to deliver exceptional outcomes for our studio and clients. Our international award-winning practice is engaged in a range of high-profile hotel, resort, luxury residential, and commercial projects throughout New Zealand and the Pacific. We are looking to expand the team following our appointment on several upcoming hotel and resort projects. The role is a full-time permanent position with excellent opportunities for career growth and high-end project leadership responsibility. The position is a design leadership role, where technical understanding and project experience will inform your understanding of the practicalities in delivering inspirational commercial interiors. Preferred criteria: You will have a minimum of 8 years experience in an architectural or commercial interiors background, with a passion for creating memorable, authentic, and enduring spatial experiences. Your portfolio will demonstrate completed projects of scale where you have been in a senior role and instrumental in formulating the concept and delivering on this vision in the finished space. You will have experience working directly with clients as a key project team member and have examples of exceptional presentation documents communicating your vision. Our team is collaborative, and you need to be prepared to get involved in everything. You will have a love of sharing new and inspiring creative ideas and developments and an ability to guide, extend and uplift the junior and intermediate staff in your project team. You understand what's involved in coordinating and collaborating with consulting engineers and architects on commercial projects. You will have good working knowledge of NZ building code and standards, with experience preparing information for building consents. You have a thorough understanding and experience structuring documentation and project organization and processes. You can demonstrate an exceptional understanding of materials and finishes with a passion and knowledge for how these can be detailed and expressed. You can provide examples of creative problem-solving when project demands such as value engineering, compliance, durability, and other constraints have inspired your design. You have a passion for furniture selection and design with experience scheduling FFE, finishes, and fixtures. You will be proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, and Sketchup Attractive salary and conditions will be offered commensurate with experience.
