Data is Tracksuit's moat: it's the core of our product and integral to everything we do. Our vision is to be used in every strategic growth conversation for the best consumer brands of today and tomorrow. We're doing this by becoming the common language to measure, understand and communicate the value of brand building.As our Senior Data Scientist, you'll be a critical part in a small, focused Panels/Survey team with high agency and high accountability. You'll work closely with a Senior Engineer, a Senior Product Manager and market research experts, while joining our rockstar Data team.We think this role is exciting because:You'll be working on some of the most impactful projects in the company: You'll be applying your data skills to solve problems at the heart of our business model, directly driving our ability to scale and launch new products.You get to innovate: You'll have license to run experiments, imagine surveying from first principles, and implement solutions with a product team to build the world's best survey engine.The data is directly tied to business outcomes: As you shape the trajectory of Tracksuit, you'll be able to directly measure your impact and demonstrate your contribution to the business.We don't have a roadmap dictated to us: You'll have high-level business goals and outcomes, but it's up to you to define the problems and solutions.We're backed by product-legend Lenny Rachitsky: Founder of Lenny's Podcast and Lenny's Newsletter. We're looking for a "Full Stack" Data Scientist that:Is based in Sydney or Auckland (or willing to relocate to Sydney / Auckland)Has 4+ years experience as a Data ScientistHas strong data science capabilities: Deep understanding of statistics, including both frequentist and Bayesian approaches. Experience with measuring and improving data quality, especially in surveying. Fluency in SQL and in scripting languages such as Python and R. (Nice to have) Experience with classical machine learning, generative AI, or causal inference.Has data leadership, product, and commercial skills: Entrepreneurial. You're focused on having an impact on business results and thrive when navigating new domains. Able to think creatively, both statistically and commercially, to solve business problems. Drives momentum, making trade-offs between statistics and commercials, and prioritising work independently. Able to communicate the impact of work and work with customers. Experience in procurement and negotiations is a big plus.Is kind: This is such a collaborative role that we ultimately want a great, kind human.(Nice to have) Has data engineering and management skills: Able to design, maintain, and optimise data infrastructure and can collaborate with software engineers to put data products into production.Salary: $140,000 - $165,000 a year OR $125,000 - $155,000 NZDWe practice transparent compensation at Tracksuit, which means we put a real focus on fair compensation for our people and their roles.
