Senior Data Quality Analyst at Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, WellingtonDiscover a career with purpose at MBIEWellington based permanent roleFlexible working options availableSalary range: $101,911-$121,196The Senior Data Quality Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Standards NZ's data, enabling the business to make informed, data-driven decisions.The role ensures data accuracy in the database and making improvements to the functionality of the database, addressing data inconsistencies from third-party APIs, and coordinating the business intelligence (BI) system to transform raw data into meaningful insights. The role is also responsible for translating business needs into requirements and explaining complex technical information in an easy-to-understand way.Data QualityServe as the subject matter expert in Standards NZ's data domain.Identify and deliver initiatives to improve the quality of Standards NZ's data.Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for data elements and tables.Systems and IntegrationsResolve data-related technical issues and troubleshoot queries for users and developers.Support the development and maintenance of APIs for seamless system integration.Reporting, Analysis and InsightsDevelop reporting systems and dashboards in SAP Business Objects and Microsoft Power BI.Run reports to support MBIE and Standards NZ performance reporting and business analytics, ministerial and public servicing (e.g. OIA requests) and other data requests as required.System ImprovementsGain insights into customer needs to inform future product and system enhancements.Develop user stories for system change requests.Skills and Experience RequiredAnalytical experience with complex and disparate information to deliver insights and trends.Up-to-date with trends in database administration.Good understanding of data modelling, data structure, data quality, and assurance processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Numerical ability and accurate data entry skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in database administration or a similar role.Must have legal right to live and work in New Zealand.Applications close on Monday 20 January 2025.Employer: Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
