About the role
We're in search of a team-oriented and proactive IT expert with a background in managing operational systems and various database technologies to become part of our crew, in the role of Senior Data Engineer. Locations are New Plymouth, Auckland and/or Wellington.
This position is diverse, encompassing aspects of software development, system architecture, and maintenance. The main goal of this position is to develop, improve, and provide support for the Bank's data infrastructure to ensure it meets the stringent data quality and integrity standards necessary for the Bank to fulfill its promises and responsibilities in maintaining data accuracy and security.
As a member of the Data Engineering team, your duties will include managing the data that moves from operational systems to the data platforms and subsequently to the analytics and reporting systems that produce compliance and management reports.
In the Senior Data Engineer role, you'll demonstrate a rapid learning curve, along with the demonstrated skill to work closely with key stakeholders in developing and refining ideas, addressing issues, and implementing solutions. You'll possess good decision-making skills, a solid understanding of business operations, and the assurance to manage risks and uncertainties.
Who are you?
You will showcase significant expertise in the creation, improvement, and maintenance of Banking systems.
Your experience will include 8+ years of Data Engineering, including software development with scripting languages such as Python. You will also have Advanced SQL knowledge and experience in other database technologies and expert experience with ETL or other data flow management tools.
We are looking for candidates who have:
Databricks Lakehouse Platform
Data Warehousing solutions (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse)
Cloud infrastructure management, deployment (AWS, Azure)
Experience with management of Linux servers, preferably with configuration management tools like Ansible
