The Role:
As a Data Engineer, you'll be joining a talented team of professionals to support the development and enhancement of advanced data services. In this role, you'll be working closely with various stakeholders to help deliver modern solutions, using cutting-edge tools and platforms like Databricks, SQL, and Python. You'll be playing a key part in their journey to modernize their platform and projects moving forward, with responsibilities including designing and optimising data pipelines, working on data ingestion and processing, and ensuring solutions align with overall architectural guidelines.
This is a Christchurch-based , 12-month, fixed-term, full time role. You must be located in/willing to relocate to Christchurch, as it requires 3 days in the office per week.

With experience in working with advanced data processing platforms, you'll be able to bring ideas to the table and work efficiently with cross-disciplinary teams to create meaningful solutions. Skills:
You'll ideally have the following skills and experience:
Significant experience commercially with the Databricks platform, ideally also using Python/SQL for data handling and analysis.
Senior-level experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing and storage.
Strong background in designing ETL/ELT workflows, optimizing processes for performance and reliability.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions, e.g. Snowflake or Azure.
Proficiency in using CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub to automate and streamline workflows.
Comfortable working with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI to support reporting and data visualization needs.
