Apply now to become a key player in TVNZ's digital transformation.The opportunity - Te turangaIn this role as Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial part in designing and implementing fit-for-purpose, well-architected solutions.You will support TVNZ's technology strategy and accelerate our desired technology future state by empowering our digital platform with additional data engineering capabilities.Your role will focus on:Working in an Agile environment and being an important individual contributor to the overall success of the team and the Data Platform we support.Managing and contributing to TVNZ data movements including Data ingestion, Data curation, and Data consumption.Operating in our existing Azure Data Platform (including all relevant service offerings), with a continuous improvement mindset to challenge the status quo and seek better solutions.Participating in Data modeling exercises and championing TVNZ data domains such as Content, Consumer, Events, Finance, etc.Designing, implementing, and documenting well-architected cloud integration solutions, working closely with Architects to ensure the solution is sound, fit-for-purpose, and future-proof.To be successful in this role, we are looking for:Cloud:Designing and building robust ETL/ELT pipelines and familiarity with services including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, etc.Being a seasoned Data developer in SQL, Python, etc., with sound experience in Big Data processing using PySpark and other technologies.Hands-on experience in MDP (modern data platform) including Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Platform, or equivalent offering in AWS.Track record of setting up data platform observability and data quality monitoring, with a strong understanding of what good data quality means.Experience in ML modeling building and real-time data processing will be highly regarded.CI/CD:Well-versed in development best practices, with proven technical capability in designing and implementing IaC, CI/CD, and source control in the context of data development.Appreciating code quality and having a strategy for ensuring the quality of code using linting, unit testing, etc.Operational support:Experience with Azure monitoring solutions in the context of Data Platform to oversee data pipeline run history, pipeline health, and overall data quality.Understanding critical corporate reports/dashboards and the datasets behind them, providing support when issues arise.Existing stack:Knowledge of on-premises integration technologies such as MS SQL SSIS, BizTalk, and experience with their migration to modern solutions in the cloud is valued.Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!
