Mo te tima / About our team   The Disability Support Services (DSS) Group works to ensure fair access to disability support services in New Zealand, prioritizing those with the greatest needs.
Through the DSS Review Programme, the Group is focused on implementing key recommendations to deliver consistent, equitable services, prioritize high-needs individuals, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of DSS, all while upholding Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles.
Te ahua o te turanga / About the role:   This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Disability Support Services (DSS), where you will play a key role in improving the quality of disability support services across New Zealand.
As a member of the Quality and Performance Team, you will work with a variety of data to develop insights that help shape better decision-making and drive improvements within the disability support system.
Your role will involve:   Cleaning, managing and analysing data from service providers to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement Creating reports and insights that are easy to understand and meet the needs of a wide range of audiences, including the disability community, service providers and government officials Collaborating with teams across DSS and engaging with the disability community to ensure your work is meaningful, accessible and impactful Presenting complex data and analysis in clear, concise formats for both technical and non-technical audiences Providing advice on data quality and supporting the use of data to inform key decisions and improvements   This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical skills in data analysis, experience working with diverse stakeholders and a commitment to improving outcomes for disabled people and their whanau.

Nou te rourou | What you bring:   Proven experience using RStudio (or similar tools) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulae, Power Query and VBA Demonstrated ability to engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders fostering positive relationships and collaboration Exceptional written communication skills, with experience presenting technical information and analysis in a clear, accessible way for non-technical audiences Solid background in data analysis, systems analysis and project management with a track record of delivering insights and solutions Strong understanding of government processes, ideally within the social sector, and familiarity with disability data is desirable Position Description   A Copy of the position description can be found here.
