Details of the offer

Business/Systems Analysts (Information & Communication Technology) "If you make beats… Melodics is like going to the gym for a workout!" - DJ Jazzy Jeff.  Melodics was conceived by Sam Gribben, ex CEO of Serato, in the summer of 2014. Having finished up at Serato after a decade at the helm, Sam was ready for something new. He'd worked with some of the biggest artists in the music world, and with the international companies who built the instruments & controllers they used. Along the way he noticed how important pad & cue point drumming was becoming in the overlapping worlds of DJing & production. Thus, an idea was born. Our product is shaping how the world learns to play musical instruments. We want to enrich our world with music and make it accessible for everyone. Melodics is entering a new phase. We've proven the core concept, and we're switching gears from start up to scale up. Our three year strategy includes some big goals, and we need you! We are a user experience driven company that places the customer at the heart of our decisions. Our team is made up of a diverse bunch who come from a range of backgrounds (professional musicians, SaaS experience, higher education experience). We strive to create an inclusive environment for our team, customers, and partners. At Melodics, we place huge value on our data. As we grow the demand for data and insights will grow. As a result we are continuing to develop our data analytics function to transform data into actionable insights and support our growth plans. As the Senior Data Analyst you'll play a key role in building out what data and analytics is at Melodics. This role will be hands-on, ever evolving, and sometimes more than data analysis. We want someone who has the drive to understand the data, loves to crunch the numbers, is inquisitive and eager to understand the business but also loves to share, learn, educate and influence.  If what we do and how we work sounds like a bit of you, then please read on. Day to day in this role: This is a sole charge role reporting to our Senior Director of Finance. You'll know our data, deeply. You'll be diving into our data to understand its value, quality, and meaning. Using your skills you will find solutions, answer questions and flush out insights. You'll draw on your experience to help inform and support the data and insights strategy. You'll be an integral support to every team and enhance and influence the work they are doing, from Finance to Music to Engineering to Marketing and more. You'll be a go-to when it comes to our analytical and reporting tools. Success will be in the provision of value added actionable insights for the business which will support decision making. There will be some regular reporting and tasks, but the majority of work will be ad hoc analysis and projects. You will have an input into the experiments we run, analysing the results of A/B Testing. There is a massive opportunity for growth with this role. We're committed to getting even better at working with data, and you will play a big part in that.  Who we are looking for: You've held a senior data analyst or business intelligence role before, and are comfortable holding a subject-matter expert role at Melodics.  You're experienced with data visualisation, able to effectively pull data together and illustrate information in an easily ingested manner. With strong business intelligence tools (preferably Tableau) and advanced level of SQL experience. You have a keen eye for detail and the ability to wrangle data from large data sets - structured or unstructured. Can understand its flaws, know where it excels and how to develop it further. You can identify data quality issues, working with the business to find solutions and bring these to resolution. You are comfortable with statistical concepts. Experienced in conducting experimental analysis. You know how to sense-check and reconcile your work to make sure your output is right. Set up clear and transparent processes that others can follow.  You will be inquisitive about all areas of the business and excited to seek ways to improve how and what we do. You will need to be resourceful to get to the right answers, and be a great communicator. Be able to work with others, and be able explain results both verbally and in writing. Be keen to share and educate. Nice to have: An interest or experience in data science Experience in the world of music creation Experience in a B2C, SaaS. or technology company Experience in product analytics tools such as Mixpanel Experience in Google Analytics An understanding of data engineering concepts You definitely don't have to tick all the boxes or even be musical, we're looking for someone who can grow with us and be as passionate about our business as we are. If you feel like you tick most of the boxes, then we're keen to hear from you! Lastly, as a group we're pretty obsessed with either: music, education, design-thinking, adaptive learning. It's a plus if you are enthusiastic about some of these areas too! Read more about our company values here: blog   Some of the cool things about working at Melodics are: Working in a positive, fast-moving, and motivating environment, solving interesting and meaningful problems around music and education We truly value innovation and growth - ask us about our weekly growth experiments! We're a friendly and smart team - we listen to each other's ideas and give everyone a voice to influence and shape the future of Melodics We want you to work in the best way that you can and have a documented flexible working policy We value the wellbeing of our team - we have mental health and physical health First Aid-ers, we've replaced traditional 'sick leave' with uncapped wellness leave from day one of your employment, and subsidised health insurance. An array of musical instruments you can borrow and play! (and office jams) There is plenty of scope for this role, and it could grow in any number of directions depending on where you excel, where you end will be up to you!   Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand? How many years' experience do you have as a data analyst? How many years' experience do you have using SQL queries? Which of the following web analytics tools are you experienced with? Do you have experience with multi-variate and A/B testing methodologies? Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
