You will hold great relationships internally and externally and maintain strategic oversight across the organisation's work programmes – and advise on communications opportunity and risk. Working across multiple teams within DairyNZ you will have the opportunity to extract and elevate DairyNZ's story, with a particular focus on delivering value for levy and progressing a positive future for dairy farming. This role provides critical quality assurance across internal and external communications channels and is pivotal in promoting the work of our world-class scientists and farm systems experts – with the right words, at the right time, across the right channels. To support dairy farmers to be sustainable and profitable, you support New Zealand's economy, and New Zealanders' standard of living and wellbeing.Reporting to the Corporate Communications and Media Manager, the role is responsible for:Developing and executing comprehensive and strategic communications plans from end-to-end.Working with our experts, farmers, internal teams, external stakeholders, and media to help elevate DairyNZ's strategic direction, highlight DairyNZ's scientific solutions and advocacy work, and protect and enhance our corporate reputation.Partnering with communications professionals across the wider sector to help solve sector-wide challenges now and into the future.Maintaining good media relationships and providing strategic advice to leverage media opportunities.Leading the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, with a particular focus on ensuring accuracy when developing technical content, given DairyNZ's scientific expertise.Providing advice and support to DairyNZ staff to ensure high-quality outcomes in media, reputational, and issues management.Operating as a strategic advisor on internal priorities and projects.About you If you have a passion for creating and developing compelling communication campaigns using your astute knowledge of the industry and those who work within it, then we want to hear from you. We'd love to hear from you if you have:A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate communications or related field.Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies.Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.Strong media relations experience, including crisis management.Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects, with multiple stakeholders, simultaneously.Knowledge of the Dairy Industry is advantageous but not essential. Why you should join usMake a difference - Together with our farmers, help us drive positive progress for the sector and country we love.
