Permanent Corporate Accountant opportunity based in Central Wellington Your new companyYou'll be joining a well-established kiwi organisation which has an exceptional reputation for company culture and staff tenure. You'll be based at their modern central Wellington offices with great views and even greater people.Your new roleYou'll be working in a close-knit and friendly finance team who work in cohesion to ensure that the work is done to a high standard whilst also having a lot of fun along the way. With the business continuing to grow, the Finance Manager is now looking to bring on a Corporate Accountant to support the team. Duties and responsibilities will include:Ensuring that all reconciliations and postings to the ledger are completed accurately and on a timely basisOverseeing the AP/AR function to ensure timely processing and escalations as requiredPreparing the management accounts by the 5th working day of each monthMonthly variance analysis and monitoring cashflowPreparation of the statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS including IFRS 17Supporting and managing the audit process to ensure a timely sign-off of all accounts.Assisting in the preparation of the annual budgetsPreparation of full tax and compliance returns including year-end tax reportingPreparation of payroll and payments to provide cover for the Payroll and Accounts Administrator when requiredWhat you'll need to succeedThis role would be well suited to a candidate who is at least 2 years post-qualified and who has experience in a professional services related industry. This is a complex organisation so it is essential that you have prior experience working in New Zealand with a strong working knowledge of financial reporting (including IFRS) and taxation rules in relation to corporate taxes (Income tax, PAYE, FBT, and GST).
