Senior Consents Planner (fixed term)

We believe the way we do things really does make a difference in the lives of those who live in our communities and as Senior Consents Planner within our Planning team you'll play a significant part in this by shaping the future of our district.
You will be involved in the processing resource consent applications, appearing and presenting at resource consent Hearings, providing technical advice to other members of the team, and guiding customers through the District Plan, Resource Management Act and other relevant legislation.
Our ideal applicant will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and will have five years' planning experience in the resource management field. This experience would have preferably been gained within a local government setting.
To thrive in this role you will be somebody who has good time management skills, as the position often requires the management of multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, you will have excellent writing skills, with the ability to describe situations and convey concepts and arguments through the written word.
You will also need good verbal communication skills, will be comfortable working with computer software, be a team player with an excellent sense of humour and hold a full class one driver's licence.
