We are seeking a Senior Consents Advisor to support our Strategic Consents Manager in acquiring complex, large-scale resource consents for both new and existing power stations and associated infrastructure. This role is critical to achieving Mercury's growth aspirations and ensuring the successful management of significant regulatory risks.
Responsibilities:

Contribute to the strategic leadership of Mercury's consenting pipeline to maximise the value of Mercury's generation development pipeline.
Direct the suite of processes associated with resource consent applications, including those associated with AEE preparation, evidence preparation and stakeholder consultation.
Work with the Strategic Consent Manager to manage environmental risks by providing advice throughout Mercury operations.
Support the formulation, implementation and delivery of strategies to ensure the effective management of key relationships required to support operation and project outcomes.
Work collaboratively and provide advice on consenting risks and opportunities relating to legislation changes, policy and planning processes.

We are looking for:

A tertiary qualification in Resource Management Planning, or other relevant field such as law or natural sciences. (Postgrad desirable).
5-10 years'+ experience in RMA processes and a track record of successful delivery of resource consent projects and resource consent compliance activity.
Broad technical knowledge of the suite of potential effects to be considered in resource consent processes.
Experience working with complex project interactions in a cross-functional environment.
Ability to see ahead and sound decision-making capabilities.
