For our particular upcoming projects, we will only be reviewing applications from New Zealand.This position is a 6-month contract to start, with the possibility of extending beyond that period.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our Senior Compositing Artist's are responsible for compositing multiple image layers derived photographically and computer-generated into a single cohesive image. Ensuring photoreal integration of all VFX elements with the live-action plate and establishing aesthetic consistency across your shot, in line with feedback from the Lead Compositor/VFX Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading the creation of top-tier digital composites and visual effects for film and episodic productions, demonstrating a wealth of senior-level experience.
Integrating live action and computer-generated elements into visual effects shots with an acute understanding of the client's vision and the creative direction set by both the client and VFX supervisor.
Executing all facets of the compositing process, including advanced tasks such as 2D/3D tracking, matte extraction, element layering, and nuanced color grading, as directed by senior leadership.
Showcasing an advanced proficiency in digital matte painting, texture painting, and paint/roto work, consistently delivering work at the highest standard.
Collaborating with the VFX Supervisor and Compositing Lead at a strategic level, actively contributing to the evaluation of creative and technical approaches for assigned shots.
Fostering collaboration with Supervisors and fellow compositors to ensure the timely delivery of shots at the pinnacle of quality standards.
Meticulously integrating diverse layers and elements within live-action shots, employing a senior-level understanding of visual storytelling.
Exemplifying efficiency in completing work within established schedules, while maintaining continuous, high-level communication with the production team and fellow artists.
Expertly interpreting and adhering to production guidelines, adeptly solving complex design and effect challenges for key visual effects shots.
Support and mentor other team members.
Proactively communicating with artists, supervisors, and the production team daily, demonstrating leadership in flagging issues and offering strategic solutions.
Providing senior-level assistance with VFX tasks and discussions, including but not limited to contributing to pipeline development/maintenance, colour science and colour management workflow, overseeing data management, and leading process documentation creation/maintenance.
Preparing comprehensive progress reports as requested and consistently logging work hours on a daily basis with meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

5+ years experience as a Compositor in Feature Film.
Well-developed artistic sensibilities and be able to interpret notes.
Good knowledge of Nuke's Gizmos and Groups workflows.
Advanced Scripting ability (Python).
Demonstrable understanding of the principles of cinematography, photography and colour science and, of course, Compositing best practices.
Competencies in designing and troubleshooting new and existing complex tools and workflows.
Demonstrated experience with LookDev and setting up templates.
Proven ability to collaborate with VFX Supervisors, Compositing Leads, and other team members, contributing strategically to the creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
Effective communication with artists, supervisors, and the production team, showcasing leadership in flagging issues, offering solutions, and providing updates on progress.
Experience providing senior-level assistance with VFX tasks and discussions, contributing to the growth and development of team members.
In order to meet target deadlines, our Compositing Artists must have effective time management skills and be able to prioritize their work effectively.

Must Haves:
