We are seeking a talented individual to join our Consumer Marketing and Communications team at Mercer.
This role will be based in Auckland or Wellington.
This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least two to three days a week in the office.Senior Communications ConsultantThe purpose of this role is to work independently with clients or with other internal stakeholders to develop and deliver effective, accurate and timely employee communication strategies, work plans and materials for stand-alone schemes and their members.This position will act as primary or secondary client contact (depending on client size and contracted Mercer services) and will support the relationship managers where appropriate.The person in this role will be responsible for delivering and growing time cost and retainer revenue from existing client contracts and building the revenue streams by leveraging of Mercer's marketing function.9-month contractWe will count on you to:Client Communication Services:Preparing annual communication plans, managing Trustee Director elections and member surveys for premium service standalone clients.Preparing and enhancing legislatively required documents (annual reports & benefit statements).Preparing brochures, flyers, newsletters, forms, guides and posters.Coordinating internal & external reviews.Liaison with client/internal stakeholders.Demonstrating in-depth and instinctive understanding of client needs and generating multiple solutions to meet these needs.Quickly responding to new and changing demands to ensure client satisfaction.Using lateral thinking to maximize opportunities and potential business gains (this may include product development addressing a similar issue across a range of clients).Marketing Services:Promoting client's value to their employees.Scoping and assisting with development of innovative value-add campaigns.Looking for innovative distribution solutions.Participating in projects.Digital/Online:Conducting annual audits of client digital channels and liaising with Mercer's digital specialist, online team and external suppliers to implement any changes to structure, content or branding.Supporting online team and working on enhancements.Drafting content for websites and publications.Coordinating appropriate reviews.Stakeholder management:Attending internal and external meetings as required.Advising internal and external stakeholders on various communication tactics and strategies.Ensuring external communications consistently align with strategic imperatives and key messages applicable to client or a product.Scoping, development and implementation of client value-add material such as new member packs, online articles, newsletters, surveys etc.Clearly communicating complex, difficult and multi-faceted issues.Contributing to Mercer strategically:Developing strategies to enhance function profitability and add value for total Mercer business.Making business decisions which address key business issues within own practice.Understanding market forces and working with client to ensure proactive planning takes place.Championing the Mercer brand and Marketing team internally.Ensuring all communication activities and materials comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical/sustainable standards.What you need to have:Suitable communications background ranging from PR, communications, marketing or customer experience.Strong communication and/or marketing skills and ability to oversee a broad range of tactical activities.Managing multiple communication channels.Managing communications end to end.Financial Services, Superannuation, Banking industry knowledge preferred.Be customer-centric.Written and oral communication style that explains technical concepts clearly.Writes clearly using correct grammar, strong business and report writing skills.Understands communication theory and marketing practices.Ability to analyze client needs and maintain client relationships.Communicating regularly and effectively with required parties.Project management skills, including constantly reviewing project status to identify and respond to changes which will impact on original strategy, timing, quality or budget.Ability to manage cost and scope variations with clients.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to prepare copy for design and proofread accurately.Understanding of peer review process and strong peer review capability.Why join our team:Gain exposure to a global firm.Work with marketing, communications, investment professionals.Leading learning and development programs.Professional environment where your career path really matters and is supported in our global organization.Great team environment with energetic and supportive colleagues.Genuine work life balance.About us:Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), is a global leader in helping clients realize their investment objectives, shape the future of work and enhance health and retirement outcomes for their people.
