We are seeking a dynamic individual to support and enhance our team and be of service to the organisation.About the roleAs a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer you will be responsible for creating and delivering communication and engagement plans, and developing solutions that improve communication and engagement for the residents of Otepoti Dunedin. You will work collaboratively with the communications team and your primary focus will be providing professional services to teams across the organisation. In times of need, you will provide issues management services to the Executive Leadership Team and be part of the public information team for civil defence emergencies. Using strong problem-solving skills and incorporating feedback, you will drive continuous improvement to our messaging and information flow.You will also create and develop internal and external communications for a range of channels - social media, media releases, our websites and more. There isan engagement component to this role, so experience in community and stakeholder engagement or a willingness to acquire such skills is essential.About youExperience: Demonstrated experience in managing complex communication and engagement environments with an understanding of the political context of Local Government.Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are paramount. You should be able to convey concepts clearly to stakeholders, fostering understanding and building the reputation of the Council as a valued contributor to the wellbeing of Otepoti Dunedin.Customer Focus and Problem-Solving Approach: A strong customer focus is crucial in this role. You should be passionate about delivering high-quality services that meet the needs and expectations of our organisation.
