The role involves managing media relations, overseeing digital content, and producing high-quality written communications. You'll provide proactive strategic advice and ensure communication and engagement with the community is impactful. This varied role requires autonomy, self-direction, and the ability to grow and adapt to any setting.About youWe're looking for an experienced communications and engagement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your political nous and sound judgement will allow you to confidently offer strategic advice to the Mayor. You're proactive, innovative, and able to effectively manage a varied work programme. You value collaboration but also work well independently, and you're excited by the opportunity to help shape the public narrative around the Mayor's priorities.We are open to people from all industries, though some experience in local government or within the public sector would be advantageous.Key Skills and Attributes:Substantial experience working in a communications roleExperience working with and responding to media on behalf of an organisationStrong understanding of digital engagement strategiesAbility to think strategically and offer advice that enables decision-makers to make informed decisions.Ability to manage competing projects and priorities and perform well under pressure.Applications close @11.55pm 13 October 2024.
