We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Commissioning Engineer to join our high-performing team.
Reporting to the Operations Commissioning Manager, you will provide water or wastewater commissioning expertise to ensure the successful implementation of capital works, maximizing system efficiency and delivering positive outcomes for our customers.
You will lead and support commissioning approaches across our business to ensure consistency, minimize business risk, and optimize solution delivery. Other responsibilities include:
Overseeing the entry to service, performance testing, and successful hand-over of multiple projects simultaneously. Projects range from major asset maintenance to complex treatment plants.
Providing water and/or wastewater process expertise.
Preparing and reviewing commissioning documentation including test plans, test sheets, and commissioning plans.
Creating strong and successful working relationships across different business units.
Developing and improving existing systems, standards, and business processes/practices to meet the demands of a changing operational scene.
Mentoring commissioning, capital delivery, and operational staff to ensure commissioning best practices are followed and commissioning capability is grown within Watercare and partner organizations.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering and/or operations (process, mechanical, chemical) including experience with commissioning of complex industrial processes (water/food/chemical/oil & gas).
Proven experience in either water or wastewater treatment processes.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and lead others, establishing strong relationships with a variety of water industry practitioners, stakeholders, and the wider community.
Confidence in writing and presenting technical, managerial, and business principles.
Knowledge and experience in business continuance/quality systems with a drive to develop knowledge of new technologies.
Knowledge of NZ Health and Safety legislation, systems, standards, and requirements.
A tertiary degree in Engineering or a related field.
A full NZ Driver's License.
