About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Property Commercial Accountant to manage their financial operations and provide strategic financial support to the business. This role is ideal for an accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to make a meaningful impact in a growing company.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to the senior management team. Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and monitoring. Monitor cash flow, manage financial risks, and implement effective financial controls and procedures. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring timely submission and adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations. Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and strategies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Support the senior management team with ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as needed. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Commercial/Financial Accountant or in a similar role, preferably within the property development or real estate industry. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Familiarity with New Zealand accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. A relevant qualification in accounting or finance (CA/CPA preferred).
