From delicious comfort food to a large selection of local craft beer on draught, bespoke cocktails from award-winning bartenders, to an excellent selection of organic and natural wines from New Zealand and abroad. We want someone who prides themselves on working in a professional environment where there is room to grow their skills both in the kitchen and by working with the team. PAY RATE $29 - $31 per hour MINIMUM HOURS OF WORK 38 hours per week WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Day to day preparation & cooking to the Head Chef's requirements. Ensure your section is run smoothly and up to par. Ensure excellent hygiene as per HACCP standards within the kitchen. Full control over kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chef. Actively involved with menu development. Actively involved with menu creation for one-off events. FOOD PREP Reading and executing recipes. Presentation of all menu items to correct specifications and correct portion sizes. Management of a section of the kitchen. Prep the menu according to the prep list in a timely and efficient manner. KITCHEN CONTROLS Stock ordering, rotation and stock take. Understanding of food costs and wastage. Adhere to health and safety requirements in the kitchen. Ensure you are checking all dishes coming out of your section. Monitor the speed that dishes reach the pass and the customers. Be well presented and adhere to uniform guidelines and have impeccable personal hygiene. EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
